The best RV Resort/campground on the East Coast?

We are undecided on where to go this summer on vacation..... I was wondering where you have been and where you thought was the "nicest place you had ever been" ?I like being on the Ocean, not really to big into "family" type campgrounds(kids being kids) So.....what is your best kept secret (time to let it out of the bag) on the east coast(Tennessee & Kentucky to the east and Maine to Florida) for a vacation? Or on a lake, large water pond....etc. I just like being near the water(fishing a plus)
Post a link if you can......

  • Topsail RV Resort in Destin, FL. Was a private RV resort and the State of Florida bought it and made it part of their state park system. I have stayed there, but according to others there are several very nice resorts around Destin.

  • Bailey's Point, Glasgow KY. Corps of Engineers campground on Barren River Lake. No sewer hookup is only negative and some sites aren't perfectly level. Some sites way up off water but some down near water. Off the beaten path so make sure you take all provisions you'll need or you will drive a bit for supplies.
It is a very large campground. If you want near the lake but smaller campground try Tailwater at Scottsville KY below the dam on the Barren River. You can read the reviews on these 2 campgrounds on www.rvparkreviews.com
  • There had been a number of positive posts about the Corps of Engineers campground over in Tioga Pa. I haven't camped there yet but have talked to people that have and they loved it. Close to Corning NY too for the factory tour.

The place we go has plenty of large trout and the fishing's great. But fishermen don't give away their best spot because then it becomes overfished.
