The difference between Beartooth and Road to the Sun?

For those who have traveled the Beartooth Hwy and Road To The Sun-would it be possible to find out what the difference is for driving? We have traveled the Beartooth, but not RTTS. For personal reasons my DH would prefer not to be a passager in a little red bus and would like to drive- but he isn't suicidal, and neither am I !! We drive a Silverado HD (Duramax diesel) Thank you for any help!

14A sounds like fun! Thanks for the tip, I may have to check it out. ;)

X2 on 14A Awesome! Each of these drives have something different to offer so take them all!
  • " it will be very tight in some spots with absolutely nothing on the passenger side while going up."

Silly! That depends on which direction you are going!!

Nothing suicidal about either of those roads for any driver of moderate, careful skills!!
  • I really appreciate all the help. Speaking for myself the "nothing on the passenger side" of mountain gives me pause! I appreciate the info about shuttle service-didn't realize there was such a service. We don't arrive in GNP until mid July. Like others had posted we too loved the Beartooth, which we traveled last year. We are looking forward to seeing Glacier! Once again-thank you very much- we have a lot more info to work with.
  • When we are on Beartooth I think it is the most beautiful road in the world. When we are on GTTS I think, "No, THIS is the most beautiful road in the world. Do both if you possibly can. In 1973 we pulled our 17' Shasta TT over Beartooth behind the snow plow. We had no idea what we were getting into but it is one of our best family memories. No TT's on GTTS and that is a good thing. lizzie
