You guys need to be a bit older before you can look back and really appreciate what you have now.
The night sky used to look best au naturel to me also, up to a couple of years ago when it began to look best only when tweaked in Photoshop.
I just had one eye's cataract removed and what a wonderful thing to see the night sky one half way into all it's glory. The second eye is next month and I can hardly wait for a complete au naturel view again. Our residence is just high enough in the mountains to view wonderful skies from the back deck. :C
