Still more Milky Way shots -- these are from our September trip to the Northwest -- clearly not yet professional quality, but this is probably as good as I am going to get. This first one is from Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park, a few miles up the hill from our campground at Heart O' the Hills -- check out the glaciers on Mt. Olympus at the bottom of the picture:
And this one is from Nehalem Bay, in Oregon:
The Nehalem shot makes it look as though there was a full moon -- it wasn't. But the long exposure caused the moon to flare.
