Yeah, I have looked into those tracker things -- a little pricey, and also more gear to haul around. The same with a telescope -- something I have always wanted and will never get.
But we will still travel a long way to see really dark skies -- being able to see the Milky Way is the visual equivalent of silence -- a sign that we are not in the city, at least for a little while.
