Yes, Phil, I would be concerned about the tires. Passenger cars with ordinary tires do suffer flats out there, pretty often. But trucks with beefy tires don't. I would talk to someone with local knowledge. But don't rely on a random ranger -- the one I talked to said that almost no one should drive to the racetrack, which can't be right!
But given all of the wild places you go, I would guess that your tires should be ok, right? Didn't you go to a remote part of Eastern Oregon for rockhunting and star gazing last year?
