For that incident I never did call since the gate attendant "found" a site for us. Who I would have called was:

US Federal operated campgrounds (across all US States)
National Parks, Lakes, Forests and other federally operated recreation areas across the USA
(US Agencies: NPS, USACE, USFS, BLM, USBR and others)
NRRS Federal Campgrounds

just to see if they showed anything open. COE's are suppose to have so many walk up sites that can not be reserved (why we stop early.) Since the park was fully reserved the attendant was holding those walk up sites in their private double book system. Again off topic, but still nice to know and maybe the practice will stop once it is more known.

I tell you what, now that I reached the magic age of 62, my cost per COE night drops in half or so. It is even more important not to get messed around by front desk personel or volunteers saving sweetheart reservations on an under the table basis. That's not right. I need to know the ins and outs to determine when an individual is turning me away, when there's tons of open spaces being saved for their wink, wink, friends that are not there on a first come, first served basis. I was not talking about COE parks. I was talking about commercial RV parks. Yes, I know the jerks that you are referring to and they definitely know how to work the system. One would think that the reservation system could have a flag for a stay longer than 14 days in the same park even if it is a different site. And I realize that the walk up sites are often held for friends even though it is not allowed. For these reasons, we seldom stay in a COE park anymore.

Rock do you an an estimate of condo fees and costs to own a condo in Fl?

There is a really nice spot at a COE park on Lake Texoma. I was told it was reserved every weekend last year. I checked on-line - it was.

This year, I make sure of the booking window - and got the spot for two weeks including Memorial Day.
