- phowellExplorerWe camped at James Island last summer. Our kids are older, but still lots to do at the campground. The climbing wall has a small wall for younger kids. Also, the bike trails around the park were great. The onsite water park is fun, but maybe not so much in October ;)
I agree with the previous poster about Patriots Point. Definitely a must see. I would start with the sub, skip the destroyer, and then hit the highlights of the aircraft carrier. It's pretty amazing to see how good the people on the carrier had it compared to the sub. That should be plenty to wear your kids out. - RockrashExplorerGo for a trip to patriot point with the kids. They can roam around a submarine and air craft carrier. Also look up the Angel Oak, largest live oak on the east coast. I believe it is on Johns Island.
- fla-gypsyExplorerThere are nice play areas at JICP for kids but the attraction of Charleston is history and lots of it. You will just scratch the surface in 4 days. Excellent dining in the area too.
