And are you referring to Mattole Beach Campground, on the Lost Coast? We have been there with our trailer -- a very long and tricky drive, but worth it if you like silence and ocean air. I have heard it can get busy on weekends. We were there mid-week, just after July 4, and it was empty.

Mattole
I believe the CG I had read about some time ago must have been Mattole, but I couldn't recall the name. From what you say and I've read elsewhere, we probably shouldn't try to get to it in our Class C. At the very least there might be problems if we met another vehicle on the road going in or out.
A.W. Way County Park is in the area but not on the coast. We might be able to access it in our RV:
