Day 7, Thursday:
No report of campground b/c we stayed with family, but we still visited the area so I'll report on that. We were about 30 minutes outside of Williamsburg. The kids met distant cousins that they didn't even know existed. Another great part of travelling.
Even though we were conscious of our finances, we didn't want the kids to only walk battlefields and monuments on their summer vacation. So we let the boys decide where they wanted to go as a fun day. We gave them the option of Water Country USA, Busch Gardens or Kings Dominion. They decided on Water Country USA.
This was one of the best days I've ever had. We had 4 adults that hardly knew each other and 5 kids between the ages of 12 and 6. We were at the park at opening at 10am, and closed the park at 7pm after riding every single ride. Not one child argued, or complained, or voiced any type of unpleasantness the entire day. The temperature was hot enough to enjoy the water rides, but not humid or too cold. The lines were shaded and moved quickly. We picnicked in the parking lot for lunch. For dinner we ate a local fastfood joint. My daughter fell asleep in my lap while we ate dinner. We had to ferry back to the camper and arrived again after 10:30pm. At this point at least the kids were adjusted to late nights.

I'm sure it was a combination of the great companionship and weather that made this stop so great. But I think you can see it in our faces just how much we enjoyed this place. I'd recommend it to anyone with kids.
