I camped at LaPosa South the last 2 winters and had good reception of ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX plus PBS with a batwing antenna. CBS was a must, couldn't miss The Big Bang Theory.
Also Excellent Verizon data service.
How far south did you have to go from I-10 to get signal?
Jerry, how high up is your antenna pole and what type of antenna? - Jerry_CampbellExplorerI made to LaPosa south. I get 20 OTA channels pointed toward Phoenix.
Thanks

Had my straighttalk phone, and got phone reception 100% of the time. I also have a MIFI device, and get internet in Quartzsite. Best reception of our whole trip usually in Quartzsite.... - Lenny_KExplorer

How is 4G cell phone coverage by AT&T out there in La Posa South?
I have my Telus phone on only for emergency phone calls as calls are $1.45 per minute. Don't have a call plan for the US as we use Skype for all our phone calls. AT&T is the roaming partner for Telus in the Quartzsite area but as we never used our phone during the show period I don't know what the service was like. The times that we used it outside of this period it was fine.
We do have an internet plan through Verizon and are grandfathered to 3G. For the three weeks during the show period it was definitely a lot slower but it did work. - NinerBikesExplorer

How is 4G cell phone coverage by AT&T out there in La Posa South?
Last year from at least the Friday before the show, all the way to somewhere around Tuesday or Wednesday, there was ZERO AT&T coverage; voice or data anywhere in or around Quartzsite. It was long enough that it actually made the paper.
AT&T had every excuse in the book from 'overload' (that doesn't shut an entire system down), they needed parts, system upgrade, and a few more. At the end of the day AT&T was out, not even a carrier, for at least 5 days.
Meanwhile in the tent, Verizon had set up a booth and had people lined up almost out the door for phones and data devices. They made a killing over AT&T's ineptness last year. AT&T lost a LOT of customers last year.
Last year when it worked, AT&T was all 3G at best and often dropping below that. Hopefully whatever they were attempting to do ended up as 4G.
Back to the topic..
TV might be a nice option, 4G cell phone coverage that I am paying for, by a major interstate is not... it's mandatory in this day and age. We used to see the same At&T cr/\p up at Mammoth Lakes during the holiday season. System would get buried by overload, and you couldn't even get calls in or out. Happens every year on 3 day weekends or longer, too. - SCVJeffExplorer
