Twelve Oaks RV Park, Sanford, Florida

We put together kind of a quick 3 or 4 week trip together to visit our Daughter, Son-in-law and 5 Grandchildren in Winter Park, Florida... after looking and looking, we finally booked a site in Twelve Oaks during February...

It looks to be an older campground, but they said I would have no problem getting in our site. We will mainly use it as a base camp, since most of the time we will be out and about... If anyone as any information on this campground, good or bad, I'm all ears... hahaha.

  • several reviews on www.rvparkreviews.com Says mostly permanent residents, tight sights. In Florida usually lots of permanent residents means not much for kids to do there. Has some good points in the reviews such as reasonable rates, good good management and clean.
  • Yeah that place is crazy packed in with long termers. If you are price shopping and want something reasonable we have used this place a few times Lost Lake At first glance the long term rigs don't look great but we found everyone to be really nice. Plus the bike path passes right in front (and going to the right) less than a mile down is a nice playground. My review is on that link too.
  • Yes I read the park reviews also sdanel, I also noticed the bulk of the sites were tight. I guess for this time of year on very little planning, beggars can't be choosey... :) The fortunate thing, we will be spending very little time actually at the campground... tsetsaf, I will check Lost Lake out while we are down there along with a few others.

sdanel & tsetsaf... Thanks for your responses, I really appreciate them & you can bet, the next trip to see the kids & grandkids, there will be a bit more planning on my part!

  • you're welcome. We've all been there...done that! LOL.
while you're there, you might also check Lake Monroe Park, a Volusia County Park. Water and electric and reasonable rates. You can make reservations there.

I will check them out also, Thanks... We used to always take a trip south to visit our Daughter, Son-in-law & Grandchildren... for a month. The last few years we would just stay at their house. About December of this year we decided to bring the 5th Wheel down because we need to run down to Ft. Myers area for a week after leaving the kids house. Thus... NO PLANNING... haha
