- dpscllExplorerI purchased my first Coach from La Mesa and I can tell you that they not only helped me get started with excellent help and lessons, but when it came to service, they had an excellent shop managed by the service manager from the former Prevost Featherlight company that went out of business at that location 2 years earlier. He went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied and even gave us a huge break on repair costs when we needed it. Don't let this one experience sour your opinion of the dealership.

No disrespect but you guys just do not get it. Be did not say he was a salesman. He did not say he worked for a dealer. He did not offer to buy it. He did not offer to put it on consignment. He just asked questions. The rv has less miles, in better condition, and $10,000 less than the one he is selling. He only wanted information.
I still fail to see what your issue is as well. He is under no obligation to tell you he is a salesman. He's scoping the competition. That you feel it was unethical, well, that is your personal issue. I am not saying it is right or not, it's just not that big an issue.
Real estate agents do it, car dealers do it, antique dealers do it. Why wouldn't an RV dealer do it?
When selling FSBO, that is the stuff you must deal with, and you need to be realistic about that.
I have friends that have had great dealings with Le Mesa. National company. Giving better service than those-who-must-not-be-named! - Executive45Explorer IIILog, I got it too...that said, tell us how much info you gave out NOT knowing he was a salesman, and how much you WOULD have given out if you HAD KNOWN...if you answer you would have given out the same amount of info, you are, indeed, a rare individual....Dennis
- J-RoosterExplorerMike, I like those guys also! Never dealt with them, but there nice enough to feed me a free breakfast every year (Jan.) down in Quartzsite, AZ.

When you are selling your motorhome do you ever go to RV dealers to see what they have for sale on the lot and how it is priced? I do.
If you do go to dealerships do you tell them you are there to scope out the competition or do you just look around then go on your way without revealing your true motive?
I don't think the salesman did anything different then we all do when trying to sell our rigs.
Just good business to know where you stand compared to what-else is out there.
Well put, most of us have done this. Atleast once! - Wrong_LaneExplorerWhen you are selling your motorhome do you ever go to RV dealers to see what they have for sale on the lot and how it is priced? I do.

- Dance_ChickExplorerHey LOG, I get it. It just would've been nice if he had introduced himself properly. That's all.

I guess I still don't get it. I see nothing the salesman or dealer did wrong. Your way of thinking seems to be if someone calls about your mh and does not buy it or make an offer they have wasted your time. I don't see where they were dishonest with you in any way. jmo
I am simply trying to point out that LaMesa RV has a less than straight forward salesman and sales tactics.
The original post was about an experience with LaMesa. I was just trying to relay my experience.
