Two more questions on Yellowstone

Here's the weather info for YNP by month over many years. They are averages.
And Here's the info on all the CGs inside the park, including opening and closing dates, site sizes and numbers, and utilities or lack of them.

I've been to Yellowstone in mid June 3 different years I couldn't tell any difference between weekend and weekday.

Do expect it to be cold. Each visit we encountered light snow on one of the days which we thought was a treat and not a problem but mainly because we were prepared for cold weather.

The park is less crowded early to mid June compared with July and August. That said you will benefit from staying in the park and getting on the road early in the morning each day. Bonus, you'll see more animals by getting out early.

There is cellphone service in the Fishing Bridge-Lake area now; a tower was installed over last winter. Previously there was basically no cell service there. (This explains the discrepancy in the answers.) Still no antenna-TV service or cable. Satellite reception might be possible, depending on the campsite & weather.

I would say there is basically no difference between weekdays & weekends. Years ago when I worked in the park (waiting tables), we thought it was a bit busier midweek - figures, since people would take a week vacation & spend the weekends driving to/from the park, spending Tues - Thurs there. But the difference, if any, is slight.

Early June is likely to be cold. (And I mean cold - as in snow showers, some of the roads closed, below freezing at night, and a good possibility of chilly rain.) Mid- to late June would be more comfortable, but if you're prepared, and have enough layers of clothes and a way to protect your camper's water system, earlier will be less crowded and therefore a bit more pleasant. This year, most of the calves were visible mid-June, but earlier than that, not in evidence. Possibly the mamas were keeping them away from the roads & people.)

We were there in July, 2013, and had no cell service for either Verizon or AT&T at that time. I do recall reading some time after we left that Verizon (as I recall) had received permission to put up an antennae in the park, so I suspect there is today service in areas where there was none in the past.

Two people said no cell at Fishing bridge and I was there about a month ago and had Verizon data and phone all 5 days.

We had a 40 ft site and had Direct TV also

We were there mid Sept, we noticed a heavier influx of people on the weekends.

We have stayed at Fishing Bridge three different times. There is no cable tv. We had no over the air television. We had a site that was able to get satellite, but other sites could not. We had no Verizon cell service, but got it by driving a few miles away.

Early June is good. Animals are still down low areas. Make reservations early for the dates you want. week ends not to worry yet. IF you can't get the dates you want through the reservation system call FB directly and the rangers can tell you if they have what you want. The reservation system is a little slow.
When you go to these places you step back in time and leave the Media home. If you want the weather, they post it in the office for a couple days at a time. And you will want to be out to see nature at its best. It can be cool, and IT MIGHT SNOW @ that time of year. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!
