Will they let you pick a site? The last time we stayed, we picked the type of site (we had FHU) and when we got to the Lodge to check in, they assigned us a site. We didn't get to choose one. Then again, it was pretty full and that might of been the only site available.
Just a month ago, you can't reserve a spot specific :(, just tpye (full hook-up, size of site, tent, etc..), but they let you go pick available types, if not super busy.
They don't always keep track of who has what site, you are given your tag to hang once you are in a spot, they color code the types of sites, with the tag you are given.
Friend and I arrived late one Friday, they just said, there should be two large sites, this color code, and 4 regular hook-ups sites avaialable, find one spots that work for you all, and hang your tag.
Park is packed a lot of weekends, get the feeling middle of week, will be plenty of options.
