California's Eastern Sierra is a volcanic land of towering mountains, pristine lakes, gold mining booms and busts, and some amazingly bizarre hikes. Come camp with us for free in the Inyo National Forest and visit Mammoth Lakes and June Lake, kayak at Gull Lake, explore the remains of the ghost town of Bodie State Historic Park, and hike through a rocky volcanic wasteland on Obsidian Dome:

Another great TR!  Too bad about the smoke -- I hope that someday you get to see the Eastern Sierra in crystal clear conditions.
