x-2 on American heritage, nice park, or Newport News Park, which is a city owned park 20 miles east of W'burg W&E sites only I think. Williamsburg has both the Theme parks (Busch Gardens/Water Country USA) as well as the Historical sites. Va. Beach is an hour East.
Another Coastal area farther south would be Nags Head/Kitty Hawk NC. Wright Bros Memorial, great beaches, hang gliding from the sand dunes, Lost Colony show in Manteo, and some great Lighthouses. OBX in KItty Hawk and Cape Hatteras KOA have full hookups.
3 hours west John H Kerr Reservoir, a COE lake with both COE and both Va and NC state parks. From there continue west on either US 58 or take I-85 to I-40 To some of the state parks along the Blue Ridge pkwy. Height may limit your 5er, the Parkway has info on its website and maps for areas that may be a concern.
Or you could head back North on I-81
Hopefully this gives you a few ideas.
