- kohldadExplorer IIIKnow about Liberty Harbor RV people recommend for visiting NYC. May be close enough for what you want.
- darsbenExplorer IIAbout the only choice is Liberty RV park which you can search for on this forum.
About $100.00 per night with water and elec no sewer but dump station.
It is essentially a parking lot cramming in RV's
Some info here.
If you search for Secaucus NY hotels on a good travel website you will find hotels that are about the same price and a 15--30 minute ride to NYC depending on time of day.
Most of the hotels have free parking but call to make sure they can accommodate your rig a lot of the hotels in Secaucus have bus tour stopping at their facility so they have parking for larger rigs. The Clarion hotel and the Extended Sty America come to mind (Check ESA ratings before booking)
For your dates Clarion hotel is $110 per night and the Candlewood suites is $126.00. Clarion has excellent bus service to NYC Candlewood I do not know about the bus service - If I had a choice between a hotel room for $115.00 or my RV at any cost (almost) , it would be the RV every time... that is exactly why I got an RV... The only other RV Park that I am aware of is the KOA in Newburg NY.. that is about a hour from the Bronx depending on where in the Bronx..
- spadoctorExplorerif you are brining a toad...I would say Interlake in Rhinebeck (10 min from my house) You could then take the toad to the Poughkeepsie train station and Metro North RR to the Bronx. Or if you want to drive to the Bronx the campground is 5 min from the Taconic State Parkway which if you go south merges into the Bronx River Parkway. You will be about 1:15 min travel time. Your best bet with an rv. I would avoid Liberty myself.
Also if you could stay an extra day or two there are great sites to see...FDR home and library...Vanderbilt Estate on the river and the Culinary institute of America...all in Hyde Park about 20 min from the campground...and if you are there on sat or sunday the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome...largest collection of flying WWI and earlier planes and a museum. - Roman_DuckExplorerIf you expand your travel radis to 60 miles, there are a number of campgrounds that have grass and not razor wire. The miles from the bronx isn't the problem, its the travel time involved.
- slayExplorer IIYou are not going to find anything on the west side of the Hudson River that is within 30 miles of the Bronx except for Liberty Harbor, and even that is not convenient if you are going to drive a car to the wedding. I would suggest either northwest New Jersey, which would leave you about 50-60 miles from New York with access to the Bronx via the George Washington Bridge, or somewhere in the Hudson Valley going toward Newburgh, N.Y., which gives you access to the Bronx via the New York Thruway and the Tappen Zee Bridge. Either way, it will cost less to drive your car into the city rather than cross the Hudson River with your MH, and both locations make for an easy getaway to Johnson City, which if I recall is near Bighamton.
- Up_DownDeCoastExplorerYour best bet would be Croton Point Park. Its run by Westchester County and located about 30 miles north of The Bronx. This is a highly rated park that is quiet and peaceful (google "Croton Point Park"). Full hookups and close to the train station if you want to train it to the city. Pretty much a straight shot if your driving as well. Just don't get caught in the weekday rush hour, mornings to the city and evenings from the city.
I grew up in Westchester County, just north of the Bronx. This is the closest CG to the Bronx. Liberty Harbor is on the wrong end of the city to conveniently get to the Bronx. - Sharon_and_MikeExplorerwe stayed at croton-on-Hudson state park in Westchester. We were there for a few days and really enjoyed it. Can catch the metro-north train right outside the campground to the Bronx or manhattan

X2 This is your best and closest option. - LindaDExplorerThere's a campground on Long Island called Battle Row it's in Old Bethpage and about 30 miles from the Bronx. I've never stayed there, drove through several years ago though, seemed okay for a short stay.
