Western National Parks

Here is the original posting :

This is just an info thing personal survey. Has no basis other than that. (But it might be helpful to some)

OK, what are your top three National Parks in the 11 Western states - CA, OR, WA, MT, ID, NV, CO, WY UT, AZ and NM?

Those states only and NP's only. Comments not necessary.

Note I said personal survey; no basis other than that. And that is right.

Maybe instead of "top" I could have used the word favorite.

It was intended to be just a fun thing and generate some thoughts, etc. Then people telling me how I should do it.

I see Ivylog has pulled his comments - at least I do not see them (After the PM'S I did block him and now maybe it has just caught up). I responded to him that I did not want a nr - sr Grand Canyon debate on here; God only knows that has been beat to death many times!

And I said the 11 Western states - and named them - as that was just a point I wanted to ask; I was not out to offend eastern states or anything else. If someone wants to do a national one, go for it.

And a few other things that can lead to what makes a political discussion a moot point in comparison!

Can't believe the PM's I got from a few people telling me how I should have done it "right". Good grief, people, get a life!

I will let this run a little longer and then give my final good-bye on it with my thoughts.

Ken, I will give three which will be tough for me. I am a professional photographer now and I kinda look at things a little different than most. But, hey, I am the OP, right?! :-)

You'll be getting a PM admonishing you for your smart A comment and to start your own post if you cannot follow directions. Never mind if they are close together and you should visit both when in the area. I actually like the Tetons better than Ystone.

I can't count either - I actually ordered my Coach a year early so I could drive it through the Zion tunnel and be able to get to Bryce.(2006 TS went to the high line coach that are too tall to go through the tunnel)

I also think Rt 12 (the Hogback should be included) Love that drive and all the State parks along the way. The state of Utah is just special.

The Tetons and Maroon Bells are two rocks my eyes will never tire off -- I've taken so many pictures of those two that I just stand and stare now, never even getting the camera out, can see them now, as if I were there.

Once we find out the THREE best - I think the discussion should be about what month/week, of the year, is best to enjoy these parks.

Maybe we all should include Pictures of our favorites,

Lauren, I don't know what you're after but asking for only the national parks in the states you mentioned is limiting. I think most have been mentioned already.

What's your purpose and what are your choices?

Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Grand Canyon

They are all pretty terrific. What your circumstances are will have something to do with it, I would think.
Do you like hiking, photography, fishing, history or are you more of the drive around the park and not/ (able to) go far from the parking lot?
What time of year are you traveling?
Do you like off the beaten track or like mobs of people?
We love southeastern Utah...ALOT. Arches, Zion, National Bridges...
