What to see/do & where to stay in Rhode Island

Rhode Island is one of the very few states in which we've not stopped to see any attractions nor have we camped there. DW & I are heading for New England later this season and welcome all suggestion...

Forgot about Block Island... that is a very nice way to kill a day. Lots of outdoor entertainment,concerts etc. Rent mopeds and tour the island. Ballards right when you get off the ferry is a good starting point.
