Where Are All The Canadians?

Me Again, there is and always will be "discrimination". Haven't you ever received a discount for being young or old? Prices at the movie are cheaper for the matinee. If a private company cannot lower their rates to attract customers then free enterprise will be gone. I will answer any PM's regarding the discount. I do not have anything to do with the park but when the park is full of renters, the rent can stay down. State parks all over the country charge different rates for veterans, out of state, and seniors. Sue if you want.

If the park is usually full of Canadians and nobody shows up this Winter the owner should just suck it up and close the gate?

That smacks of discrimination! I think a state attorney general would rule that all that enter the gate are entitled to the same discount at a public RV parks.

It is my hope that the lack of Canadian business will help reverse some of the large increases in rates we have seen in the last few years.

This park in the RGV is offering what amounts to a 20% rebate to Canadian visitors. So far, the numbers resemble previous winters. With the cheaper fuel and the 20% discount, the Canadians here are not complaining.

Here in the Ocala area we don't see many Canadians until after the holidays. Almost all are from Ontario.

I just checked into John Prince Park in Lake Worth FL yesterday and did a loop on the bike. There are a lot of Canadians here. I'd say 75% of the sites are Quebec plates.

To be honest, I think the weather here might be playing a big part. At least in Ontario. It's been unseasonably warm thus far, maybe the 'need' to leave hasn't hit yet.
