The first year after I retired I was camping on Lake Of The Woods in Ontario fishing for walleyes and northern pike. One early morning I went for a bike ride and right in the middle of the dirt road was a wolf. It was big and mangy looking and was not in a hurry to run away. I just thought it was sick. I was later told they shed there winter coat at that time of year. I saw a second one the following day. Seeing them that close was pretty exciting. Never heard any howling at night.
