- HandbasketExplorerThis wasn't taken the last time I was there, but it's the same spot... Dawn at Grassland Mtn Observatory. It's an 'amenity' in a development where one of our astronomy club members has a home. The club & guests get to use it 4-5 times a year, and are allowed to camp overnight those nights. I'm about the only one to take advantage of that. It's at 4100', has a 360 degree view, and houses a pier-mounted 16" SCT.

If the skies clear up for this weekend (hope so, but doubt it :(), we may have _three_ nights up there, for a regularly scheduled stargaze and the Perseid meteor shower's peak.

Oregon fires) along the Wild and Scenic reach of the Rogue River. No "wheeled RV", but our raft carried all that was needed.

Hey, 2oldman!Was that in the reserve, or in the ORV area closer to the Moses Lake direction end of the reservoir? - EycomExplorerAllegheny National Forest, Red Mill dispersed camping area along a trout stream; closest town, Ridgeway, PA.; no facilities. 5 days/4nights of solitude and natural ambiance, ie. peace, quiet, and R&R.:)

As for me, my latest boondockers were:
Two weeks in the Sinlahekin Valley northeast of Omak, Washington and several shorter trips to the Olympic National Forest (east side/Hamma Hamma river area). - 2oldmanExplorer IIPotholes reservoir near Othello WA
