The photo is a composite of 7 images shot in almost random directions & put together in the Photoshop Panorama tool. Previous to this photo I've always tried to level & carefully pan by a minimum of thirds to make a panorama. Never knew that as long as there are identifiable parts in each image, the panorama tool does a great job of matching things up.

While there are lots of different things I do while traveling, the two main ones are attending fiberglass trailer rallies & photographing some of the most beautiful parts of the country.

I inherited the "Travel Gene" from my parents. They started with a TT and wound up with a 'C', towing a VW bug. I got postcards. So after I took early retirement, I hit the road in an RV. First, a 'B' and then my current 'C', pulling a toad. Not full time, but often.
My job required extensive air travel, but even in 2 room Embassy Suites, it got old, and most important, I didn't have my "stuff" with me. Now, when I get to my destination(s), I become a tourist, and at night I know who's been sleeping in that bed in the back - me.
I haven't been in Washington or Oregon (yet), but I have been in all the others, including Alaska which is still the best trip ever.

I like hiking and checking out places of Historical Interest, also Museums, Aquariums, Planetariums, Zoos, Observatories, At night I like to Stargaze.

Until we tried RV camping, we had no idea what we were missing. A huge, life-changing revelation -- no kidding. No comparison to hotel travel. Check out our blog (see link below) if you want to see where we go and what we do -- it's mostly hiking, mostly in the West and Canada.

And someone said, "Just need to add a glass of Gentleman Jack to sip with my cigar." Personally, I have found that this method significantly alters the flavor of the beverage and often extinguishes the cigar. I prefer to sip it with a straw.

Our trips all have a planned purpose. One trip is to the beach for obvious reasons, next one so I can play golf, next so DW can hunt antiques, next so the grandson and I can hike the mountains and ride our bikes, on and on. I'm sure we all have our favorite reasons and places. :B

While I've camped all over the US, we primarily stick to the west in our explorations. We stay mostly at NFS, BLM, and NPS CG's, only rarely with any kind of hookups. For many of our longer trips (3-4 weeks), we pick an area or state, get there quickly, and spend our time thoroughly exploring that area. While hiking and sightseeing are a big part of our days, we also have mountain bikes that we frequently use. Nothing too difficult, but singletrack where we can find it. We've ridden the coastal Redwoods, the north rim of the Grand Canyon, and just outside Bryce along with tamer rides in places like Nebraska, Wisconsin, and South Dakota. While we used to eat all of our meals around our campsite, we now often head out for dinner to sample the local cuisine, check out the local brews, and meet the residents of the area.

When we tell people here that we camp, where we go and for how long, I'd say envy is what I hear from them. Perhaps it's because of where we live. Most people who live here are here for the outdoor lifestyle. Maybe they ski, maybe they hike, maybe they bike, or maybe they raft, but many people here have some sort of outdoor activity that they pursue with gusto. I will tell you that this mix of energetic people makes Glenwood an invigorating place to live.
