We are looking for suggestions for places to go for a two-week trip during November. We live in Maryland, and prefer to travel no more than 2-3 days each way. We are retired, travel with a fifth wheel, and would like somewhere that isn't too cold. We don't want to go to Florida on this trip, but are thinking about other southeastern locations. We enjoy quiet scenic areas, relaxing, listening to Americana music, and exploring whatever is in the area. We prefer water/electric hookups. We like state parks and corps of engineer parks, but are fine with private campgrounds, also. Thanks for any suggestions of places to visit, and/or specific campgrounds.

Charleston and Savannah. Beautiful areas, lots of history wonderful temps and if you wanted oceanfront you could do it. Or, If early Nov, go west to Galax Va, for bluegrass music, and then on down to Gatlinburg. Late November those can get cool.

We liked Hilton Head. Close enough to Savannah for a day trip. You have 2 choices Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort (no trailers) or the Marina/RV park. The only problem is they're expensive.

Back when we used to Furniture shop - now trying to get rid of much of it - we used to like a place on the lake in HighPoint - Lake Hollow? - could go on but thinking you have a strong idea already just looking to see if anyone else is close? :@Hope this is of some help,

We stayed at Huntington Beach State park over Christmas a few years ago.They have some full hookups and the rest are W&E. Short walk to the beach. Great nature programs.The home of the Huntington's, Atalaya is open for tours.Next door is Brookgreen Gardens. Murrel's Inlet has some nice restaurants. When we stayed it was only $18 a night for W&E.The first day there it was 80. The rest of the week was low 60's but sunny.

November in the South can be a crapshoot on freezing. I'm just south of Atlanta, and we were 33 degrees Monday morning, but 50 this morning, and mid to upper 70's this afternoon.

Thank you all so much for your great suggestions. We haven't camped much in the south, and look forward to checking out these locations. We weren't sure how far we needed to go to try to avoid freezing weather during November. Thanks again. We have gotten so much great information from this forum over the years.

Check out Transylvania County in North Carolina. Beautiful waterfalls all over. You'd probably have some chilly evenings, but in a 5th wheel, no biggie.

If you're willing to drive further, Texas Hill country would be nice as well. Stop by Caddo Lake State Park on the way (near the Louisiana border, NE Texas).

Smoky Mtn National Park, or the mountains in North GA, although reservations may be hard to come by.
If you enjoy Lakes, Guntersville in North Alabama is nice.
Chattanooga is a great town to visit. Great Aquarium, and eateries downtown, and lots to see and do around town.

We liked James Island Park campground in Charleston. One day we'll make it back when the xmas lights are on, which should be right about now. Might be hard to get into though.

Nashville is good for a couple weeks, we liked Seven Points COE, but there are many campgrounds all around the area. Plenty to see and eat.
