Whisper Creek RV Resort Labelle, Fl

Have Reservation at Whisper Creek RV Resort in Labelle, Florida for Nov 2013 to March 30 2014, just curious, has anyone stayed at this RV park, if so pros and cons would be appreciated, sounded nice last Feb., 2013 at the Chicago/Rosemont RV show, so we made reservation and will be our first fulltime winter away from the Chicago area, thanks to all who respond, Wolf3gang.
  • I do not understand the comments about nothing to do there, Ft. Meyers is only 30 miles away and I would think there was plenty to do there. Personally I like the rural areas myself.
  • I've never stayed there, but I've been there. On a motorcycle ride. Labelle was about far enough. Like Bill B. it seemed desolate. And I prefer the rural/natural settings. But it's just out there in the middle of vast farm fields.
Everything in Florida is measured in "How far to the beach". I'd get something closer to the ocean. AND I would lay eyes on a park before I made an extended reservation. There's enough parks that keep spaces open for "overnighters" that you don't really need a reservation. Though by Nov. the prime spots are taken.
If you have to make reservations, Imperial Bonita Estates is $500/mo. until Jan. 1st. And Indian Creek usually has a fall special for $189/mo. for the first month. That'll give you time to look around.
  • We stayed there for a month three years ago. NEVER AGAIN.
You are out in the boon docks- Nothing of interest for miles and miles around. Rent then was $850 a month. We were mixed in with permanent house trailers. One morning I killed a rattlesnake that was under my pick up truck. Be careful walking around at night.
Very clean- paved roads- some sites paved. People were friendly. There's a bunch of French Canadians(friendly people) there.

When you drive North out of LaBelle just after the bridge the cops sit waiting for speeders so be careful.
We go to Florida for the warmth but we also like some entertaining things to do and there's nothing around LaBelle.
    Happy trails,
  • I have not been there but good reviews on rvparkreviews.com; we have been to Pioneer Creek in Bowling Green the past 3 winters.
