catch every cold going around and with side effects
Not speaking for OP but this may mean that it starts out as what seems like a "cold" and before long moves to the throat and then the lungs. The first stages may be viral but after the mucous membranes are inflamed and open a bacterial infection can set in. That's why the cold weather cant cause a common cold but it and other irritants can irritate the mucus membranes which leads to bacterial infection.
Bacterial infection produces yellow/green nasal discharge and coughing mucus at which time for me never clears up until antibiotics are used. If you are blowing your nose and it's clear this is usually common cold and antibiotics are of no use.
At the earliest signs of sinus problems I start taking musonx D, Iprotropium Bromide nasal spray, aspirn and hot towels on my face and head.
I went through 30 years of constantly recurring sinus, throat, chest infections which ended up with green/yellow discharge and trip to dr and a scrip. I went for allergy tests, homeopathic and on and on, spending thousands of dollars when in the end it was second hand smoke causing it.
I have used and some people have good preventive maintenance results with sinus irrigation with products such as Neilmed. Be absolutely sure to follow the directions as far as water quality. OP, always see a doctor but try to learn as much about your condition as you can so you can manage it as best as possible and avoid any prescription drugs. You may have key triggers that start the process.
