Will Pharmacias in Progresso Nuevo Give Pencillin Shots?

In my old age, I seem to catch every cold going around and with side effects, they last a month. Had so many I know the drill; penicillin shot after about 5 days onset, then Amoxycillin for 10 days. I prefer the shot plus azithromax, but docs in the USA seem to prefer Amoxycillin and frequently want to skip the shot. Just wondering if I can custom design my treatment in Progresso.

  • Western RV Park owner has it right. The original poster is one of the reasons all antibiotics are becoming ineffective against so many mutated bacteria.
  • In Mexico it seems like if you have the money, someone will have the time. All you got to do is ask.
  • You do realize that penicillin and other antibiotics are completely ineffective treating any viral condition, including flu and the common cold? Over prescribing antibiotics by physicians (usually because the patient demands the doctor give them something) has led to the rise in antibiotic resistant bacterial infections. Plus taking an antibiotic will also kill billions of helpful and necessary bacteria in your body which will effectively weaken your immune response, not strengthen it. You penicillin shots are a waste of money at best and likely harmful.
  • I don't know about Progresso, but I am surprised you can still find a stateside physician that will give you an antibiotic for a common cold.
