You do realize that penicillin and other antibiotics are completely ineffective treating any viral condition, including flu and the common cold? Over prescribing antibiotics by physicians (usually because the patient demands the doctor give them something) has led to the rise in antibiotic resistant bacterial infections. Plus taking an antibiotic will also kill billions of helpful and necessary bacteria in your body which will effectively weaken your immune response, not strengthen it. You penicillin shots are a waste of money at best and likely harmful.

I don't know about Progresso, but I am surprised you can still find a stateside physician that will give you an antibiotic for a common cold.
