I share your pain. So much damage during and after all of those fires. Families losing everything (including one of my sisters and one of my daughters). Mudslides and flooding. Roads closed, washed out by after-fire floods. Wonderful vistas ruined by smoke on trips even miles from the fires.
Sometimes I feel in favor of the death penalty for dumb people who insist on having campfires. Even that would not solve the problems of drought, beetles, lightning, etc etc etc.
Now that I, and soon you, have joined the ranks of the retired who are supposedly free to get out there whenever we want, we can stay home and enjoy air conditioning during summer's heat and travel during spring and fall.
