It can and will happen when the National forests are given over to the tree farmers, follow the money, tree farmers have some thing to gain by proper forest management.
Our best kept forests are under growth management by the large paper / lumber companies.
The problem was saying stuff like this on this forum is that somebody is liable to speak up who has professional experience.
I worked as a firefighter and reforester in timber company forests, and in national forests. What you say is not true.
The difference is shocking, and it is the national forests that are in far better shape. On timber company land it is nearly impossible to find a pocket of soil to plant a tree in. There is nothing but rock and gravel. They started with better land in the national forests, but they have destroyed it.
Timber companies do not manage for the long term. They manage for one human generation, maybe two. Until now, there have been enough people of Integrity managing the national forests that there has been at least some effort to preserve the property of the American people for future generations. But now, with the purges and loyalty oaths, things will be nearly as bad as they are on paper company land.
