We'd like to try a winter in Arizona this year. Can anyone suggest a RV site between Phoenix and Tuscon that is on the upscale end of the spectrum? (I'd rather pay more for more amenities and then do some scouting on my own when we're there.)Now I know this won't be Florida or south Texas weather, but can I expect to have to drain the water at some point?We're hoping to leave mid-November and return to Canada in April.Many thanks!

We like fiesta Grande, in Casa Grande. Lots of Canadians there mostly from west coast. Los of activities, 2 heated pools, Hot tub, plenty of activities every day. By the way the laundry facilities are fantastic, machines will call your cell phone when they are done. Check out www.cal-am.com. Any of there AZ parks have tons of activities and NO - you won't have to drain your water!! One park is in Yuma, one in west part of the Phoenix valley and the rest in east Mesa.Our park (Mesa Regal ) last season had a majority of Canadians!

Any particular reason why you want to be between Tucson and Phoenix? Keep in mind that the only major town in that area is Casa Grande and they get horrific dust storms because of all the cotton farming in the area. We were in one in December and driving it's the scariest thing you'll ever encounter. Semis plow right into one another and other vehicles.There are plenty of resorts in the greater Phoenix area and Tucson. I don't think I'd zero in on Phoenix itself but there's Mesa and Apache Junction to look at and they're all connected. The Phoenix area is huge but it's very easy to get around and there's so much to do there. Tucson is much smaller and a more laid-back western town.

Please be accurate and quit scaring people for no good reason

Winter dust storms? Nah, maybe a freek. IMHO, no worries.

Friends, I want to thank all of you who responded to my post. I sincerely appreciate the obvious time, thought and effort that you folks put into your responses.

Now I don't know if this ever happens to you but the tail has just wagged the dog and we're having to postpone our trip to Arizona until the fall of 2015! (The good news is that we'll be able to arrive in September. We'll start planning now to include all those National Parks that might have been tricky in December.) I've copied all your responses into next year's trip file.

I'm telling you this so that if you see a post seeking RV parks in Florida you won't think my mental map of the USA is severely skewed.

Casa Grande just isn't that big of a place not to know every store and restaurant and RV park in an hour!
