During the Southwest's monsoon season you'll see a typical wind shift flow from the West - over to flow from the South. (in fact thats one of the defining points of monsoon).
Seems to me most of you are not familiar with the monsoon and/or fall/winter in Arizona.
Another wind characteristic of the Southwest is called a dust devil and at times these localized critters can stir things up to the consternation of the visiting RV'ers who may pass along information thats not quite accurate.
The OP shouldn't be bother with winter dust storms in that area.
