Hi, we spent several winters in Canyon Vistas RV resort, in Gold Canyon, just East of Apache Junction. A newer park that is fairly upscale with full amenities, and priced accordingly, great views of the Superstition Mountains, a lot of close hiking trails (they have a hiking club), various dances, close to entertainment and shopping, yet away from the hustle and bustle of the big city life.
We had a few cold nights that got below freezing a few years ago, but the park advises to leave a drain valve open and a tap trickling water, and those of us who did, never had a problem.
Re comments about dust storms (haboob) maybe we were lucky, but we never experienced one.
We ended up buying a place in a modular home park, and would go back to Canyon Vistas if we sold the new place.
Good luck.
