We ended up buying a place in a modular home park, and would go back to Canyon Vistas if we sold the new place.

x2 .... We have been there 7 years now and Based on you original post, I am betting it will suit you very well. Definitely upscale with LOTS of amenities, but not in the main citiy.
On edit.... Hiking, dancing and swiming in one of two pool areas are major activities there. There are miles and miles of great hiking trails in the area! Many within walking distance of yhe park and none more than a short drive away.
The first year we tried snowbirding, we were going to use Canyon Vistas as a base and investigate other parks/areas, but when we did, we could not find a better place to spend winters.
