Yellowstone Last wk in May or 1st wk in June
We are planning our first trip to Yellowstone and was wondering should we plan our trip for the end of May or the first week in June. Would there really be a difference between the two? Thank You

I was there in 2008. May 15 at Grand Tetons GV campground first day it open. 1,000's of elk going to high ground. Snow on the ground but roads open. The next week at YS had one day that snow closed one road until noon when the snow melted. Saw a Grizzle Bear kill a buffalo calf near Old Faithful.
Late May is one of the best time to see GT and YS because of the snow makes the area look better. Very few people but lots of wild life.
You can also get snow in June or July.
