Yellowstone Last wk in May or 1st wk in June

We are planning our first trip to Yellowstone and was wondering should we plan our trip for the end of May or the first week in June. Would there really be a difference between the two? Thank You

  • X2 on what Agesilaus said. We park hosted in southern MT for 3 seasons and it could be 35 at night or warmer. It could be freezing rain or not. You never know, weather is unpredictable then, however, I think it would be a good time to visit before the huge crowds get there
  • That really depend on what happened to the weather during the winter leading up to those dates. It's unpredictable in other words. YNP is at higher altitude than most people realize, 8000 ft more or less. So you still have a lot of snow on the ground or it could still be snowing. Or it could be warm and sunny.
