Yellowstones Fishing Bridge Camp Ground

On our planned cross country trip planned for this summer we have reservations at Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone Park. If anyone has stayed there I would appreciate some feedback as to what to expect regarding accommodations. Are the sites, paved, level, is there places to buy diesel, firewood & other provisions in that area. Any insights would be appreciated!
  • Fishing Bridge Campground is like a crowded parking lot. However, it is within a short walk of the laundrymat and a neat combination of small store, cafe, and gift shop with service station next door. But, it is still wild. We have seen bison next to the laundrymat, a coyote wandering through the camp sites, and a snowshoe rabbit feeding on grass outside our rv. One afternoon a grizzly and her cub were less than a quarter mile away. This campground is not the destination, it is just a place to stay after exploring the park. Have a great trip.
  • Have you tried searching this Forum for `Fishing Bridge'?
  • Fuel is less than 1/4 mile from Fishing Bridge campground. The price is not out of bounds with the location.
  • Yes you can buy diesel, it will be more expensive than outside the park. Campfires are prohibited in Fishing Bridge RV Park. You get a paved parking pad and that is it. It is extremely tight, no picnic table, no Wifi, no cable TV. Yellowstone park as a whole is managed to limit the human footprint. The intent is to congregate all people and services in as small an area as possible. That keeps Yellowstone as wild and natural as possible. Fishing Bridge RV Park is a base camp for touring Yellowstone that offers water, sewer and electricity. No one in their right mind would go to Fishing Bridge for the RV Park only. You will be getting up early, touring and arriving home late. There are very limited services in the immediate area, limited groceries, limited food services and they are expensive. Have all your supplies with you when you arrive.
