Thanks for the kind words, all. Glad you liked the pics.
Renee; read up on the Pillars and how they were formed before you go, then make sure to take the time to hike up and see them up close if you can. I've never seen anything like them. You can get close with your big rig, and may even be able boondock there close to where we were. (Otherwise, there's spaces at the Rome Store.)

Take a left just past this guy sitting in the middle of the horse coral.

It's a remote area, you may have to wait in line at the pump.

While you are in the area, I'd recommend cheking out Alford Desert (dry lake surround by the Steens Mountains), and Leslie Gulch (as scenic of a Big rig freindly area I've ever seen)

@ Camperfool: You are so right. These areas especially the first two pics) just stop me in my tracks and I have to sit and gaze with a hot cup of coffee all morning and just take it in. Cultivated my love for areas like this growing up in Michigan, going to Lk Superior, the Niagra Escarpment, and such places.
@ bukhrn: You can bring your rig out to Samon le Sac for a weekend, then jump in my little 4x4 van and I'll escort you up the trail on my enduro dual sport motorcycle. I'll ride back down and sleep in your rig while you spend the weekend up there. ;)
