Sounds wonderful to me! (I grew up - Jr. High school through 2 years of marriage -in Victorville (a very long time ago when it was still a great "small city"). ) I know what you mean when you say you seek out silence and privacy. We go to the Big Horn Mountains to seek our solace. Sometimes it isn't the quietest, but it is beautiful and restful.
Anyway, I love your pictures. It truly shows the peaceful setting. Keep 'em coming!
