Very cool shot, but I'd make the moon a bit smaller and maybe not center it so perfect.
I've found that if I put it up in a corner, and make it a tad smaller, it will look very real.
I love how crisp the shot of the moon is though!

Thanks for the helpful critique Pat, I thought the same thing and went to re-shoot the picture but the moon had a bunch of haze around it making to fuzzy. Maybe I can get a better shot when we have the lunar eclipse this Wednesday, 7PM pst.

Pat - SanCapExplorerHere is a picture from our boondocking spot in the Anza Borrego Desert, looking at the Salton Sea. This was my first attempt of a multiple exposure using 2 different lenses.

This trip in we weren't road weary, we were road wearing !
Here's the view from the campsite, it makes wearing a bit of mud, worth while:

Great photos everyone. But how do you go about finding a legal remote location to camp on?
Funny you should ask...I went to the rangers station in the Wayne NF in southeastern Ohio today (It's very close to my home. I asked about Dispersed camping and their advice was to just explore and see what you can find. They told me about some horse trails that had some developed areas at the beginning of the trails (trailheads?) I drove out to them and found a WONDERFUL spot to camp. It had a pit toilet that looked brand new(IE clean) a nice sized meadow, some stands of pine trees with spaces in between to fit my pup, picnic tables, and fire rings. I am so happy that I can do some boondocking as soon as the weather warms up.
Treehugger: If you want to know more, and you are near the southeastern Ohio area, private message me and I will give you further details how to find it. - everymilesamemoExplorerHey Andrea, when you think of desert, dont hink of just blowing sand. There is quite a bit of scrub brush covereing the ground, and most of the roads (if you want to call them that) are two track but pretty solid.
It's hard to get lost, and even our Streetpilot still tells us which way to go to get back to a main road if we type something in. We have tried it a few times just to see what it would do.
No worries, and once you camp out there a few times, it'll be hard to go back to camping in a regualr campground ever again.
