I think we only stayed like 10 days. Snooty who they let in - doubt it. They let us in! :-)

Ever followed up the following fall to see if we were coming back - we went to Indio, CA instead; found a reasonable place to stay there and lots more to do.

Yuma (and Tucson) are off my list of places to visit much less stay for any length of time. Violence by the US Border Patrol agents is rampant with indescriminate searches and beatings and shootings and they have the authority to operated anywhere within 100 miles of the border. Forget about Constitutional rights as you have none with the Border Patrol and they know it and take full advantage of it.

Arizona is also one of the gun crazy states like Florida where a person has the legal right to carry a concealed weapon and no permit is required. Last thing I want is to get shot by some idiot with a gun in a campground or RV park. I used to spend a lot of time in both states but now avoid them like the proverbial plague. Too many places where I don't have to worry about nut jobs, in or out of uniform.

Wow, wintersun. Do me a favor and stay in a real sane state like CA. Yeh, right.

Gee, lived in the Tucson area now 11 years - actually, halfway between Tucson and the Mexican border - and have not seen or heard about or read about one thing that you mention.

I think I will leave this right there - no need to say more.

wintersun,are you watching too much TV or what? I have been in the Yuma Tucson area for about 2 1/2 months and haven't experienced any of this.

Wintersun, you are posting some very wrong information. The Yuma Sector of the border was just declared the most secure section of the border anywhere in the USA. We have a home near Yuma within a stones throw of Mexico where we live for 6 months of every year. This fall will be our tenth year and we have NEVER had any problems. Please do some research before you post bad information.
