Did you really just change things up without letting us know?

As the title says, "Did you really just change things up without letting us know?" All my stored goodsam bookmarks  were suddenly broken. Then after two days I figured out the new login page. I almost never complain but really? You already lost 99.9 percent of your users with the change from the original RV.Net (yes I know the server was dying but regardless the switch could have gone better) And then you just change the url to something different without a friendly FYI before the switch. Once I found the new URL I couldn't post anything because everything was locked.  I almost gave up and just flat out deleted all my Goodsam links. This login was honestly my one last attempt before I did so.

Okay end of rant.... Time to try learn the new layout. 

  • Hi CaleP , the only link I have left that I can share was for Unread Discussions which I don't believe exists anymore. 

    My other link was a bookmark to get to a sign in page and it returned as as Page Not Found. So it appeared that GoodSam was no longer live. On the first day I assumed the site was possibly being updated. But after three days with link still broken I was pretty much ready to just delete my links and never try again. You have to understand though that we migrated from a platform that we were all waiting for it to just crash and that would be the end. So when three days went by I was just figuring it finally happened. I'm glad to see that we're all still here. I'll send you a PM of the link. But I'm assuming it's not supported anymore.

    Well that being said I guess I need t rediscover how to send a private message. But I'll get it to you.

      Hiya opnspaces , thanks for letting me know how valuable you felt the Unread Posts feature was, that's a great example. 

      Here's how to send private messages: 

      Click on the member's avatar/username> View their Profile > click the Message icon on the right.

    Hi opnspaces , we apologize for the frustrating experience over the last few days. We're actively addressing the technical issues we faced last week and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve them as quickly as possible. 

    That said, I've been unable to replicate the broken bookmark redirects you mentioned. If you're still experiencing those, please shoot me a private message with a couple of examples of the links. That way, I can forward it to our team for further investigation. 

     

  • I don't think anyone knew, even the moderators seemed surprised by the change.  This is no way to run what used to be the largest RV forum in the world.
