No, its not a normal thread, and i struggle with threading still.
its an offset angle plane, using lines and 3 point arches.
It took me about 20 minutes to create the below. A pitch of 8 TPI traveling 0.1875in vertically created a 67.5 degree tab. I created an identical sweep 180 degrees from the first. Just thought I'd share
the biggest issue for me was seeing how it was ramping, so i made some hollow models, but I would need to destroy the rv port to see the ramp on the backside.
i also struggled with getting a good measurement off the cap. i think i need to get a pair of long reach groove calipers, as i have run into this before.
yea once you do it its not bad, but the learning part is a struggle sometimes, it took me 40 attempts to understand why a constraint would not lock. I do need to learn the threading side a bit, as I have some other stuff that requires me to model some threads.
