6v group 27

Hey all, has anyone had any experience with the UB62000 battery. I really want to put 6 volters in my motorhome like I had in my 5er but height restrictions make it impossible. This battery is a group 27 6v but is agm. Are there any other 6v alternatives? I can fit the height of a gp31 but its tight. Thanks

You can lay an AGM on its side.

    Well that's a bummer.

The only service AGM needs is to blow the dust off.
  • Thanks for the replies! I wondered if any 6v battery that wasnt an actual flooded golf cart battery would be as good. As far as height, Im now in a class B plus. I have a slide out tray that is literally in a metal box on the side of the motorhome, If I take the tray out I have exactly 11 inches. Its tight with group 31's, Its a pain to service them. I thought about just getting a couple gp31 agm duracells from sam's. I camp maybe 6 times a year. 2 of those 6 times Im boondocking for a week at a time. The other times I have hookups. When I am boondocking I have 300w solar but almost always in the shade. I think I would like to update my converter to a pd9260 and run my honda 2000 a couple hours in the morning and an hour or 2 in the evening. Just trying to find a good battery for my cramped space. We really like the class B plus, small enough for the wife to drive, I can tow the boat, and it easily fits in some of the tight campsights in the northern Ca. mountains. The worst thing about buying my class B was going from all the storage in my 5er to a rig where I cant fit half of it.

Be careful what you ask for ! There are a couple of different 6V battery sizes, but I am guessing you want "golf cart" batteries, GC2.

    Champ,

Take out your current battery and carefully measure the space available. I have seldom run into a situation where I cannot fit GC2s where auto sized batteries once were.

GC2 is well over 1" taller.

  • I don't know anything about that battery but I do believe that 6v AGM have no advantage over 12v AGM. The advantage of 6v batteries is with the old school flooded batteries.
