Adding a second awning.

I needed to fasten an awing arm once in an area of the wall that only had foam insulation in it. I drilled a hole where a screw was going to be, then used an Allen wrench or a bent wire and cleared out a cavity then squired in epoxy. After it set I drilled a hole in it for the screw. Worked very well, had that mh for many years, it never failed.

If you hit wall studs you should be all right.

Awnings, ladders, and such usually attach where blocking was installed in the wall. To add something it may be difficult getting a solid attachment point.
