any other options to increase tv reception?

We have great luck with one of these residential type Antennas Direct DB8 UHF BOWTIE type antenna panel. This would be mounted on pole outside your trailer. Uses a pre-amp... Having the two sides angle adjustable helps with having slight two different angles at the transmitter location for me without moving the antenna. Being a good UHF antenna it does take good pointing to work. This one solved my problem of 60-70 miles away HDTV reception. My BATWING does pretty good at 40 miles away.

Like others have said if this is a semi-permanent location just go down to LOWES and get their $90 Channel Master YAGI antenna. I used this for a long time with my OFF-ROAD trailer setup but eventually destroyed the antenna by opening it up every time we stopped.


Make sure the ANTENNA PANEL is providing 12VDC up to your BATWING Preamp and connections are good and you are going through the correct procedure to scan channels into your HDTV setup when using the OTA Antenna setup on your trailer. We had to scan-in OTA HDTV digital channels from the local towns everytime we stopped..

We use the Dish Tailgater set up on a Flagpole Buddy pole. Works great. I'd hate messing with residential tv antennas.

I guess in your case things are not going to improve until you sit down and figure things out, since the analog stations are not coming back. :B

TV? wassat? :) kidding ... but I think we've turned on the tv maybe once each summer - just to see if we still didn't receive any channels. One rainy afternoon we started the generator and watched a John Wayne dvd ... suffice it to say ours doesn't get used a lot.

I was having problems pulling in channels with my batwing antenna and determined that my booster was not working. Bought a replacement batwing and they now come with the wingman installed. Works like a champ now.

'No Signal' doesn't necessarily mean 'NO Signal'. It just means it may or may not be clean enough or quite strong enough to recover all the bits. Often that’s just a matter of minor tweaking of the antenna. The Batwing/ Wingman combo is hands down the best for the mobile market. But if you want an excellent tool to point it, the SensarPro is the best short of portable professional gear. Its often amazing how far away you can pick up an ASTC signal, sometimes way farther than the analog equivalent. Patience……….

BTW, Don't blame the government completely. The digital train left years and years before the government stepped in and put it on schedule.

We added one of these ( LAVA HD-2605 ULTRA Outdoor TV Antenna - UHF/VHF/FM/SDTV/HDTV) to our storage bin and install it atop an aluminum pole strapped to our ladder when signals are very weak. We use it with "some" success in marginal areas. Remember TV is an FM signal and travels in pretty straight lines - it does bend (refract) over hills a little. The higher you can raise the antenna the better. Sometimes, it is a matter of getting a site with a bit more elevation.
