Best acoustic material for gen set

Question

I have room to add acoustical material around my Onan 3600 KY generator. The compartment and generator will accommodate 1/2" and 1" material, depending on location around the unit. Clearances and venting requirements per Onan installation manual will be observed. That said, what is the best acoustic material to use that has a 200 degree self-extinguishing rating. Rigid sheets are preferable. I found the appropriate adhesive. Thanks for your help.

Marine Engine SoundproofingI did this a long time ago with ~1" foil faced, 2 foam pads bonded between something akin to a lead sheet for vibration suppression

For my box for the EU1000i I used 1" sound deadening material by Technicon Acoustics available from Redden Marine here in Bellingham. Expensive but very effective.Jim

The VB-TSM is 1.125" thick and will be used anywhere I can to meet the .25" separation from the unit per Onan. Where it is closer I will employ the 1" or 1/2" Noise Barrier.
