- darleyhavidsonExplorerAs I indicated earlier, I purchased the Fantastic Vent Covers. Point of note, if you decide to purchase one I DO NOT recommend purchasing from RVUpgrades.com.
They do not have a large enough warehouse to keep everything they advertise in stock. Which is fine, however the company they used to drop ship the vent covers do not believe in packaging items for shipment. The vent covers I received were marred and scratched from lack of packing material.
The vent covers I received directly from RVUpgrades.com were marginally packaged for shipment. And they did not include one of the vent screens or mounting hardware.
I have contacted RVUpgrades with the issue, but really all I have received is an apology and no mention of reimbursement for the negligence on their part.
Not a vendor I will be using in the future. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

They move more air simply because they decided a screen is NOT needed. Besides they are QUALITY!!! - suprzExplorerFantastic fan makes covers specifically for their fans. - Cummins12V98Explorer IIICouple pics. Just look at the covers side by side. Easy to see the FV will far outflow the others with no screen to plug.
Far EASIER install than the MAXX and easy removal. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

With the Ultra-Breeze you have to scrape away the old caulk to get to the screws. You the remove a screw and re-use the hole. The MaxxAir requires drilling into the side of the vent in order to mount clips. To me the MaxxAir system seems like it would be easier to install. An added advantage is that you wouldn’t have to buy any Dicor to reseal the vent flange. I installed the MaxxAir II on our last trailer. The installation wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t happy that the vent lid was somewhat limited in how high it could be raised
Both the MaxxAir Fan Mate and the Ultra-Breeze are the same height (10-1/4”), though I suspect the Ultra-Breeze might allow the vent lid to open up more due to the shape.
I’m leaning towards the MaxxAir.
I have installed both, the Fantastic is VERY easy to install. The end result is far more important. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

I notice that the Amazon reviews for this item follow a pattern--those who just bought it recently are very happy, while long term reviews say that the plastic material is not UV resistant at all, and after a year or two it becomes very brittle and falls apart.
The very reason I went with the Maxx Air is their 6 year Warranty and the LESS than 5% airflow restriction. All their covers are constructed of high density polyethylene with maximum UV inhibitors
I have 4 other Maxx Air Covers on my RV that are 7 years old and show no sign of chalking or brittleness,it sits outside here in sunny So Cal.
I have owned the MaxxAir covers they are Quality but they DO NOT flow air nearly as well as the FantasticVent cover. Reason??? FantasticVent has NO screen. I liked the installation MUCH better with the FVC. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

I have owned mine for two years and stay where it's VERY hot and the sun shines nearly every day, they still look great! - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Extra $$$ but WELL worth the extra $$$. I have owned the others and there is no comparison! - CharlesinGAExplorer

I have one and am very happy with it, it allows the dome to open nearly all the way, more than enough for full air flow.

JMO but they all "fall apart" eventually.
I have one that will probably last a long time. I built it out of a formed Lexan "bubble" and solvent welded flat Lexan onto it to form the sides. I can raise it further than a typical RV vent and the old fan works but that is on the replacement schedule.
I like your take on the Fantastic fan and vent being able to exchange a lot of air quickly. That can be the definer between comfortable and barely enduring. I do have two vents so I may go that route.
