Fiver wheel.
I am thinking of replacing the carpet with laminate on the main floor area. I want to leave the carpet on the slide areas. I am concerned with how far under the slide the carpet is and how it is anchored under there.
As I said in the original post, BIL did his and had lots of issues. The largest of which was the spacing between the original carpet and the bottom of the slide. He did not want to catch the bottom of the slide on the top edge of the laminate and cause variety of damage. Either tear up the laminate he just put down or jam the slide by having the new laminate be too thick causing the slide to ride up over it and jam the slide mechanism somehow.
As far as Micheal said matching the finish should't be too hard. I have natural maple on my cupboards with a clear finish. Should be relatively easy to match.
