IMHO, it was worth it, as we use the Toy Hauler for a base camp from Sept thru last day of Feb for our hunting and trapping seasons etc, have used that skirting in -20* temps several times and NEVER had anything freeze, yet, like forgetting the 5 gal water jugs outside over night and then java time came in the AM, had to do without, until they thawed out in the bath tub. :S
I did find out that by using the skirting, that the TH was a lot warmer and made the experiences better. :B
We are a 4 season family and now will have a COMPLETE 4 season TH, once the solar mod is finished.
Several times we had 6"+ of snow on the ground which we had set up on, (had the choice of camp spots) :B and because of the gen set motor heat being directed underneath by the motor fan, the snow was gone in less than a day via using the skirting which trapped the heat underneath etc.
The skirting also reduced the furnace run time by 50%+, and that is the reason I elected to do my ongoing solar mod, that I hope to understand and get installed ASAP.
I went thru several 30 gal LPG refills, and finally got a 100 gal LPG bottle and that cut the refilling down to a couple of times, leaving the OEM 2-30gal bottles as a back up etc..
